Pine Creek "Parade Band" - 2011

To honor the memory of Fred Etheridge, and to maintain what has become a tradition, Pine Creek reassembled 5/31/2011 as the Pine Creek Parade Band to participate on the Podunk Bluegrass Music Festival entry for the East Hartford Memorial Day Parade. Unfortunately, thunderstorms caused the parade to be cancelled, but the band's spirits were not dampened as they had a great brunch and took photos of the assembly in front of a bank next to the eatery. With the instruments in their hands the photo shoot turned into an hour-plus jam that had nearby patrons gathering around. A good time was had by all, and perhaps it will happen again next year.

R.I.P. Fred Etheridge, 1/12/1944 - 10/1/2010

Our dear friend and fellow musician, Fred Etheridge, has passed away.

WHUS Bluegrass Cafe did a special tribute to Fred on the 10/3/2010 show. You can read the notes from the show here. There is a video at the site of Fred made less than a month before he passed away.

Pine Creek has been on hiatus most of this year, but we made a rare appearance May 31 supporting the Podunk Bluegrass Festival and their participation in the East Hartford Memorial Day Parade. A good time was had by all (...seriously, who wouldn't have fun riding down the road pickin' bluegrass for hundreds of folks?), and if you were there, we hope you enjoyed our little part on behalf of Podunk and all other bluegrass musicians in remembering the soldiers who haven't come back over the years.
